Claude Saint-Paul
St. Roch and the Angel

17th century
Church of Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs, Paris

This is the episode in St. Roch's vita when the angel tells him he has been cured (note the healthy thigh) and must now return to Montpellier from this shelter in the forest. The structure behind the angel apparently represents the well that God had provided some years before.
